Ira Khan, daughter of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, married her longtime partner earlier this year in Mumbai and followed it up with some gorgeous wedding ceremonies in Jaipur. On Saturday, Aamir Khan threw a reception party for some of the biggest names in the Bollywood fraternity and needless to say, the stars descended. While everyone put their best fashion foot forward, it was the legendary Bollywood actresses that topped the best-dressed list in all their ethnic glory. Here is a quick rundown of what the evergreen leading ladies wore for the grand occasion.
Hema Malini and Rekha
Topping the list are Hema Malini and Rekha, who walked into the party together. The leading ladies known for their charm and otherworldly looks opted for – no prizes for guessing – sarees. Rekha arrived in her trademark Kanjeevaram saree in pink and gold, with a purple border. She went the maximalist route with a temple jewellery set, replete with a gorgeous necklace, jhumkas, maang tika and matching bangles. For makeup, Rekha picked her timeless look of well-defined brows, wine-coloured lipstick, white kajal and mascara-laden lashes.
Hema Malini, painted a picture of style contrast next to Rekha, as she opted for a blush pink tissue silk saree with a matching embellished blouse. She paired it with a dainty diamond necklace, a chunky bracelet and a white bag. For glam, she opted for dewy skin and pink lips.
Jaya Bachchan
Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan looked like a breath of fresh air as she stepped out in a blue ensemble by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The Indo-Western ensemble featured a cape and a blue kurta with floral and stripe designs. She paired the ensemble with oversized earrings, a choker and a ring. For makeup, Jaya Bachchan opted for red lips.
Saira Banu
Yesteryear superstar Saira Banu was a picture of grace in a blue kurta set with a matching dupatta. The outfit featured elegant and minimal embellishments and sequins. The veteran star opted for minimal jewellery comprising a dainty necklace and earrings.
Sonali Bendre
Eternal beauty Sonali Bendre stepped out in an ivory and gold kurta and matching pants. She kept the gold-bronze theme going with golden heels, a matching potli bag, and gold jewellery. The actress also opted for red lipstick and kohl-rimmed eyes.

Juhi Chawla
Actress Juhi Chawla kept it simple and classy with an ivory kurta, churidar and dupatta. The kurta featured floral embroidery all along the border of the top as well as the sleeve. The dupatta also featured the same floral design. She paired the ensemble with gold heels and opted for two necklaces instead of one. She went with polki and diamond choker and a long chain, with hints of ruby and emeralds.
Madhuri Dixit
Dhak-Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit sent hearts racing as she stepped out in a gharara that looked all kinds of regal. The ensemble comprised a black and rusted gold fitted short kurta and gharara pants in brown. The look was tied together with a tissue dupatta. She matched the ensemble with temple jewellery – a chunky necklace and earrings – and wedge heels. She left her hair open in waves and sported glossy lips and minimal eye makeup.
Bhagyashree
Veteran actress Bhagyashree also turned up the glam quotient as she stepped out in a blush pink and silver lehenga. Keeping it muted, pastel and pretty, Bhagyashree sided with the "less is more" fashion mantra for the night. With dainty diamond dangles and rings, side-parted hair, smokey eyes and pink-nude lips, the actress looked lovely, as always.
