The American star did a photoshoot for a US-based digital magazine where she was seen with her armpit hair on display. Besides that, her digital photoshoot was as glamourous as it comes with the chicest latex outfit.
However, netizens couldn't stop talking about the fact that her armpit hair was visible in the photos. While it's true that completely smooth and even toned underarms on women are generally the image of what is presented in the media, it's far from reality. Like men, women too grow underarm hair. If they choose to remove it, great. If they choose not to, also great. Like the hair on one's head or nails on one's toes, armpit hair too grows naturally on all genders and it deserves to be normalised. We're glad that Rachel took a step in that direction.
In an interview with the US based publication, she said, "With this shoot, I'm wearing latex underwear, but I've had two children. This is my body, and I think that's so important to reflect back out to the world." This is hardly the first time an actress has made waves for embracing their natural look. In the past, Julia Roberts and Miley Cyrus have showcased underarm hair and Rachel is one more on the list, taking us one step closer to the belief that yes, women have armpit hair and it really is normal.
