It's A Casual Yoga Session Featuring Vidya Malavade's Urdhva Dhanurasana

For Vidya Malavade, the right way to start your morning is by doing yoga. She abides by the rule, putting her heart, mind, and soul into the activity. The actress motivates us to walk on a similar fitness path. In her latest entry, Vidya demonstrated a step-by-step process of performing Urdhva Dhanurasana also known as Wheel Pose. This challenging asana caters to strengthening the core of the body. It increases lung capacity, provides asthma relief, aids digestion, and builds stamina. Vidya commenced the yoga pose by lying on her back on a mat. She lifted her body gently balancing on her hands and toes, forming an arched posture. In a graceful display of her fit and fab prowess, she lifted one leg in the air seamlessly. Noting the different names of the asana, Vidya captioned, “Urdhva Dhanurasana. Wheel Pose. Chakrasana. Same Asana only different names in different schools of yoga.”

For a balanced yoga routine, Vidya Malavade rests her faith on backbends. Adding the asana to your wellness regimen can promote flexibility and strength. Good posture, better mobility, and fatigue-relief are more reasons to try this beneficial exercise. For beginners, Vidya is here to show how it is done. We are all ears and ready to take notes. “Backbends are progressive. The more we practice the better we get at them. These deeper ones come after at least 30-40 minutes of opening the shoulder/hip flexors and the upper thoracic spine.” she wrote on Instagram. One piece of advice? “Never skip the preparatory poses.”

Vidya Malavade agrees that strength training is an important part of workouts. It tones the muscles, improves heart health, boosts metabolism, and strengthens bones. But she suggests fellow fitness enthusiasts to include deep stretching exercises in their workout itinerary. In another Instagram drop, Vidya, dressed in an all-pink athleisure executed a range of glute exercises. “Glutes on. While strength training contracts muscles deep stretching like this allows for elongation and both are needed,” she wrote.
