Amazon India Fashion Week started with the best kind of bang. The first day ended with the showcase of one of our all-time favourites - JJ Valaya.
JJ Valaya is often called the 'Monarch of Indian Fashion' because of his distinctive silhouettes and embroideries that exude royalty, opulence and pre-independence charm which has been twisted with a touch of contemporary sensibilities to make it unique. This maestro designer loves showcasing haute couture for men and his forte lies in evening and bridal wear.
Valaya has completed a quarter of a century in the fashion industry and to celebrate that, this year he's introduced a line of occasion-wear ensembles. This line has been inspired by three of JJ Valaya's favourite collections. The collection is called THE CLASSICS OF JJ VALAYA:
1. GULISTAN: A gentle homage to nature, a line of sinuous silhouettes, signature prints and antique embroideries interpret a personal favorite of JJ Valaya - flowers.
2. JAMAVAR: A much celebrated inspiration and a constant fascination of JJ, this line works the magic of the Indian paisleys and the intricacies of the jamavar motifs in a modern interpretation.
3. PUNJAB: A humble tribute to our roots, this year's interpretation stands inspired by the court dressing of the Maharajas of Kapurthala.
These 3 Valaya staples will co-exist as perennials along with the seasonal collections, both as Couture and as Occasion wear with, of course, a new twist every year. Designer Rahul Mishra walked the ramp for his close friend, Valaya, participating in the celebration of 25 years in the world of fashion and style!
Heartiest congratulations Valaya sir!
