Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Alia Bhatt: 3 Actresses, 3 Very Different Outfits

It's a study in how different personal style can be

Karan Johar hosted a thoroughly filmy party for the first birthday of his twins Roohi and Yash yesterday. The guest list for the party, as one would expect a Karan Johar list to be, was one that read like a who's who of Bollywood. We know Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Sidharth Malhotra showed up in matching 'Roohi & Yash' jerseys, as did some other guests. Those who came in civvies included three actresses very closely associated with Karan Johar - in fact, the picture they posed for was the defining moment of the party. And each was dressed as if they were attending completely different events.

The three actresses in question are KJo's very close friend Kareena Kapoor, star of his film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham; Rani Mukerji, who appeared in his very first film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai; and Alia Bhatt, who made her debut in the KJo-directed 2012 film Student Of The Year. KJo made Kareena's baby announcement on Twitter in 2016, was the sole Bollywood guest invited to Rani's secret Italian wedding to Aditya Chopra in 2014, and Alia is his newest protégé, a 'baby legend' as he dubbed her at the launch of Twinkle Khanna's second book last year.

Rather apt that these three would pose together for the picture of the party - and it's study in how different personal style can be. While Kareena Kapoor with her no makeup (barring red lipstick) look, wore a grunge-cool outfit: military green jacket with a printed white tee; Rani Mukerji was more casual in a black knit top emblazoned with the stars and stripes, aviator shades in place; Alia, true to her easy millennial style, wore a pretty pink dress with a matching kimono style jacket on top.

Not only did they seem like they were attending completely different events, but they also looked like they were headed to different climate zones altogether. Alia seemed to be perfectly dressed for spring, Kareena autumn and Rani definitely winter. We wonder what the weather at this party really was like - and let's not forget it was held in balmy Mumbai where even autumn is a matter of wishful thinking rather than an actual atmospheric change.

We were able to get a better look at Alia's outfit thanks to her stylist Sanjay Kumar Dauhaliya. Alia's pretty pink outfit was from Nakita Singh's clothing line.

Other guests at the birthday party included Mira Kapoor with her daughter Misha, Soha Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan with his son AbRam.

Many celebrities also wished Karan Johar's twins on social media. Here are Shweta, Sidharth and Kajal Anand in those matching jerseys:

Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Manish Malhotra and Alia Bhatt also showered the twins with some birthday love on social media.
