Karisma Kapoor has been an integral part of Bollywood since way back in the early 90s. Ever since her debut in Prem Qaidi in 1991, Karisma had been deemed as one of the leading style icons of her time - and this fashionable streak still continues. Albeit no longer currently an active part of Hindi films, Karisma Kapoor is far from having lost her fan base or becoming irrelevant thanks to her modish and rather trendy sense of style. The style icon of the 90s' is still setting the temperature soaring with her up-to-date street style, and more pertinently, with her Desi style.
Karisma is no stranger to sharing pictures of herself in her chic OOTDs at least every other day. With 3.4 million (and counting) followers on Instagram, we can understand why.
Karisma Kapoor's stylist, Eshaa Amiin, recently shared a picture of Karisma wearing a beautiful kurta set from Anita Dongre. Karisma's kurta featured delicate thread and gota work on the bodice. She paired it with earrings from Azotiique by Varun Raheja and a pair of gold juttis.
For Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at the Ambani residence last week, Karisma chose to wear a bright and coruscating yellow ensemble from designer Manish Malhotra. Her yellow outfit featured a kurta with white thread work all over and a pair of cigarette pants and dupatta with similar embroidery just around the borders. She opted for a pair of dangling earrings from TBZ and a pair of juttis to complete her outfit.
Prior to that for an award function, Karisma chose to wear a stunning ethnic suit by Sabyasachi. The actress truly looked regal in the blue number. The anarkali Karisma wore was minimalist, but its embellished borders added just the right amount of glamour to the outfit. Together with a heavy dupatta and statement earrings, Karisma was hard to look away from.
To celebrate Janmashtami on September 3, Karisma chose to wear a white and blush pink salwar kameez, again from designer Anita Dongre. Her pretty desi attire featured some pastel embroidery and embellishments on the kurta. We love her soft and natural makeup and hair to go with the kurta.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Karisma dressed up in a simple churidar and kurta set. She wore a plain white kurta with a blue bandhani print dupatta and a deep blue churidar. She teamed her simple outfit with a pair of juttis.
For a recent event she attended in Aurangabad, Karisma wore a monochrome ensemble from Tarun Tahiliani. Karisma's desi look this time round was quite avant-garde, with a white collared kurta and a layered cape style long jacket on top.
Prior to this, we saw Karisma walk the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week for designer Arpita Mehta. Karisma took the ramp in a black embellished saree with frills around the bottom. In a black and white picture shared by her, Karisma looks absolutely resplendent.
Acting in movies or not, Karisma Kapoor is definitely a leading star when it comes to being fashionable and chic - always.
