Trooping the Colour is a ceremonial event performed every year in London, United Kingdom, in honour of the official birthday of the British Sovereign. It may have been King Charles III's first Trooping the Colour as the monarch held over the weekend, but it was also Kate Middleton's first birthday parade appearance as the Princess of Wales. To celebrate the occasion, Kate Middleton obviously had the ideal outfit to mark the occasion. In a sea of red and black uniforms of the many regiments of the Household Division, Kate Middleton's fresh green outfit sure stood out. Kate Middleton's outfit choice had many hidden messages that honoured her family and lineage but also celebrated her eye for detail.

She was seen wearing a gorgeous coat dress with a row of bejewelled buttons in the front by Singapore-born, Paris-based designer, Andrew GN. Her choice of colour and designer is unsuspecting. Her outfit could be a celebration of her husband, Prince William's recent Earthshot Prize win for his contribution to the environment, the ceremony of which will be held later this year in Singapore. The bright green hue isn't just one of the colours of the flag of Wales but is a clear nod to the Irish colonelcy as well as her glimmering gold Shamrock brooch from Cartier. For accessories, she picked a matching Philip Treacy hat and sapphire and diamond drop earrings, that previously belonged to the late Princess Diana to complement her bejewelled buttons. It is worth mentioning that the earrings worn with her engagement ring, which was also the ring Princess Diana wore for her engagement to King Charles III, were a perfect match.
