From waist grazing jet black and blonde hair to a platinum coloured bob - Kim Kardashian West has tried it all and succeeded like only she could have. Not only has Kim Kardashian been a frontrunner in setting fashion trends around the world, but she also seems to be leading the pack when it comes to declaring what the new hair trend is going to be.
After announcing on Twitter on Saturday that "she was so over her blonde hair" Kim Kardashian in her latest hair experiment promptly opted to color her hair a bubble gum pink.

Kim gave the world a glimpse of her pink hair through a video and then a picture replete with snapchat filters which definitely added to the fun quotient of her revelation.

While Kim's radical and often swift changes as far as her looks are concerned are usually well received by her fans, her pink hair caused some confusion and left fans questioning if it was a wig. Kim was quick to clear even that confusion out with a tweet saying "I don't really do wigs. It's real."

Kim's previous changes have been known to be inspired or curated by her husband and rapper Kanye West. Seems like this time Kim forewent that inspiration and surprised even her husband who Kim has often admitted is somewhat partial to her blonde hair.
This time Kim revealed in her new blog post on kimkardashianwest.com that the inspiration behind colouring her pink hair was sparked during a shoot for CR Fashion Book, a fashion magazine curated by Carine Roitfeld who is also the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris. "Ever since I did the CR Fashion Book shoot and wore a pink wig, I thought it would be fun to dye my hair pink", Kim wrote on her website.
Kim was referring to a shoot she did for the magazine in August for their September Issue. Kim channeled Lil' Kim and Pamela Anderson in the magazine's 1999-themed issue and was seen wearing a rose pink wig in many shots.
Kim's hair artist, Chris Appleton, who is more often than not the man behind Kim's successful hair transformations, posted a few pictures of Kim in her brand new pink hair, minus the filters.
Just when we think Kim Kardashian West has already set enough fashion goals for the year (and it's only yet February), she sets the bar higher. She seems to switch up her style every few months and with such aplomb. We can't wait to see what she'll do next, but for now, we're digging the pink hair.
