'Death Diving' Is The Newest Trend On The Internet And It Sure Looks Scary

TikTok trends have always been quite popular. May it be beauty or fitness related, the world is taken up by TikTok trends. But sometimes social media amazes us with something completely unexpected. One such trend recently gaining popularity on TikTok is 'death diving'. Death diving means ditching the conventional style of diving by belly flopping into the clear blue waters from an unfathomable height may it be of an ocean or of the swimming pool. This dangerous trend is practised by many, who share their experiences on Youtube, TikTok and other social media platforms. Death diving originated in Norway where the sport was called Dodsing. Dodsing is officially monitored by the Dodsing Federation, a committee that sets guidelines, rules and world rankings. Dodsing world championships have been held in August every year since 2008. There are training institutes and coaching available for training this sport.

The dangerous sport 'death diving'

Looking at the nerve-racking videos of the sport, it is believed that the sport is dangerous and harmful. But these divers don't have a death wish and instead, most of them are, in fact, professional-level athletes. The sport was created in Norway in the early 70s as a way for men to show off their skills and talent in front of girls, to impress but we reckon this must be done under the supervision of professionals and after proper training.
