From Mimi to Bachchhan Paandey, actress Kriti Sanon has quite an impeccable array of films under her belt. The actress may have been the (relatively) new kid on the block but she makes up for it when it comes to her sartorial choices. The actress has always been someone who prioritizes comfort and finds fashion as a way to express oneself. "I personally feel that fashion is an extension of your personality and I use fashion to express myself," she tells us.
Being your own unique self is what all matters and actress Kriti Sanon feels that fashion is all about acing confidence. "Wear something that you feel good in because if you feel great wearing something, that reflects confidence and that is eventually the most important," she elaborates. From walking down the ramp in radiant designer numbers to being effortlessly chic in trendy Gen Z fashion staples, Kriti Sanon has her personal way of making fashion standout. In a very candid chat with the actress, we speak to her about her personal style, fashion choices and much more.

NDTV Swirlster: When it comes to fashion, what is that one thing that's powerful for you and why?
Kriti Sanon: Fashion is a way of expressing yourself without saying anything. With what someone is wearing, I think you can get to know a lot about the other person. There's a bit of your personality in what you wear or choose to adorn.
NDTV Swirlster: Post-pandemic, style has tremendously changed. One style that you adapted post pandemic?
Kriti Sanon: Athleisure I think has become really big post pandemic. Everyone has become too used to being comfortable and I feel that athleisure was always comfortable but now has always become like a fashion check, which is great! Sustainability also is something which became a huge post pandemic. Using sustainable fabrics, wearing the same outfit in multiple ways, which is something really cool. It is no more a pressure to wear a different outfit every time.
NDTV Swirlster: Tell us about your collaboration with Sketchers
Kriti Sanon: My love for sneakers and Skechers kind of goes hand-in-hand. I have always been a sneaker person. I love the blend of fashion and comfort which Skechers totally has. The styles are very vibrant and have a very young feel to it, which I personally love. I also love the comfort technology which makes the experience very enjoyable but at the same time also adds to your fashion statement. I personally feel that fashion is an extension of your personality and I use fashion to express myself and so does Skechers.
NDTV Swirlster: How much do you think one's choice of footwear can make or break their look?
Kriti Sanon: Footwear can definitely make or break the look. If you are wearing the wrong footwear with a great outfit, it would not look that great. I have personally had that experience and from experience I would say I know how much difference the right footwear can make to an overall look.
NDTV Swirlster: How would you describe your personal style? What is it like?
Kriti Sanon: It is a mix of comfort and cool. I like dressing up and putting a thought behind what I wear, so it has to be comfortable. I have to be actually comfortable to walk out. My style actually varies, there are times when I would take out a nice dress and accessorize my look nicely and there are also times when I am so lazy that I would just throw on the most basic denim with a ganji and shoes.
NDTV Swirlster: What is advice you would give to young fashion enthusiasts?
Kriti Sanon: I would just say that make your fashion your own, don't try to copy someone else because that way you are losing your unique personality. Wear something that you feel good in because if you feel great wearing something, that reflects confidence and that is eventually the most important.
NDTV Swirlster: What's in your mind when picking the right footwear to style with your outfits?
Kriti Sanon: I mean I want to make sure that my footwear complements the outfit. There are times when your outfit is really busy so you want to go for simpler footwear. And there are also times where you want your footwear to do all the talking by opting for funky colours or a blend of colours. I feel it should eventually complement what you are wearing.
NDTV Swirlster: Will we ever catch Kriti Sanon wearing sneakers with her bridal lehenga?
Kriti Sanon: For sure, definitely (laughs). Firstly, the lehenga is so long that I don't think the footwear will be visible and for me comfort comes first. And in the post wedding party, you might see my sneakers more obviously.
NDTV Swirlster: What can we expect to find in Kriti Sanon's shoe closet? Are you obsessed with any particular shoe?
Kriti Sanon: Firstly, you will find a lot of white sneakers in my closet. You would find colours. I love vibrant shoes which make a fashion statement at times.
