In India, FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week was unveiled which showcased talented Indian designer collections through the digital medium this season and celebrated fresh talent. For this phygital edition of the FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week, the prestigious Lakme Absolute Grand Finale Designer, which took place last night, was none other than Ruchika Sachdeva. Since its inception in 2011, Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva has followed a detail-centric yet minimal approach to reinvent simplicity. Called 'Ready Set Play', this collection revolved around shades and patterns with striking colours at the backdrop. For the very first time, Bollywood star Ananya Panday played the Lakme Absolute Grand Finale showstopper as she walked the ramp in Ruchika's creations of a colour blocked crop top and midi skirt. NDTV Swirlster spoke to Ananya Panday about the memorable fashion first, her style inspirations from across the globe and summer style to come.

NDTV Swirlster: How does it feel being the Lakme Absolute Grand Finale showstopper for the very first time?

Ananya Panday: I'm beyond thrilled! It's a big moment for me to be the Lakme Absolute Grand Finale showstopper at the FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week. I just wanted to have loads of fun on the ramp and enjoy every second of it.

NDTV Swirlster: How do Ruchika Sachdeva's designs resonate with your personal style?

Ananya Panday: Totally! I love the 'Ready Set Play' theme. The collection is bold and classic and yet Ruchika still has so much fun with colour. I love the structure of her clothes as well, it's really unique.

NDTV Swirlster: How important is FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week for the celebration of young talent and budding designers?

Ananya Panday: The FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week is important because it really stands for individuality and expressing one's freedom. It sets the tone for the styles and colours of the coming season. Everyone is experimental and trying something new. Every collection and every designer has a story to tell; it's just the right energy! Such a large variety of incomparable designers get to wow us every year.

NDTV Swirlster: Who inspires your personal style?

Ananya Panday: So many people! Zendaya is someone who I've really been looking up to recently in terms of her style sense. She's cool and comfortable in her own skin and is always trying something new and different.

NDTV Swirlster: Which summer trends will you will be sporting this season?

Ananya Panday: All things yellow! Definitely a mask, that's most important (laughs). I'm also really into trousers over jeans. Cut out dresses, crop tops, wrap-around straps are a few more summer fashion favourites.

NDTV Swirlster: How was Ruchika's Lakme Absolute Grand Finale look the perfect choice for you?

Ananya Panday: It's classic but it's also super fun at the same time! I love that the colours and the structure of the outfit is so unique.

Ananya Panday: I'd have to say flares, overalls and fun prints.
