So when the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates visited the country, he couldn't help but witness the beauty of the nation. On his recent trip to India, he visited Gujarat and gave us a sneak peek at his travel diaries. Bill Gates shared a video on Instagram where he was seen visiting the Statue of Unity, which is the world's tallest statue. It stands at 597 feet and is twice the size of Statue Of Liberty. World's Tallest Statues
1. Statue of Unity, Gujarat, India
Dedicated to Vallabhbhai Patel, the Statue of Unity in Gujrat stands at a height of 182 metres, making it the world's tallest statue. As per the official website of the monument, the surface area of about 22,500 square metres has been clad with around 1,700 metric tonnes of bronze. Apart from this, noted sculptor Ram V. Sutar, a Padma Bhushan Awardee was designated as the sculptor for the Statue of Unity.
2. Spring Temple Buddha, China
Standing tall at a height of 128 meters, the statue depicts the Vairocana Buddha. It stands on a 19.3-metre lotus throne and other stacked base platforms of various heights. It is considered to be one the greatest tourist attractions.
3. Laykyun Sekkya, Myanmar
The Laykyun Sekkya statue depicts a standing Gautama Buddha next to a reclining statue of Gautama Buddha against the scene of Mahaparinirvana. It stands tall at a height of 115.8 metres. The statue has two levels and the base and the main statue are both golden. It is believed to be the third-largest statue in the world.
4. Ushiku Daibutsu, Japan
Located in Japan, the statue stands tall at a height of 120 metres. Made of bronze, the statue depicts Amitabha Buddha and was built to commemorate the birth of Shinran.
