You probably know Maisie Williams from Game Of Thrones as the fiery Arya Stark. Since announcing the completion of her role in the massively popular fantasy series earlier this year, the 21-year-old actress has been focusing on her film career. To aptly mark her departure from the series that thrust her into the global spotlight, Maisie did it with a spanking new haircut.
The young actress debuted a short haircut on Instagram with the caption "new hair, who dis?". We couldn't agree more because she looks completely different from her time as Arya with the tomboyish crop and later, a long bob. Maisie's new look includes a shaggy shoulder length bob with layers and a frayed fringe across her forehead.
It seems like short hair has been in the limelight for a few years now. Tresses have gotten shorter and long locks have been shed in favour of shaved crops, long bobs and now Maisie's shaggy fringed haircut. We're going to go out on a limb and predict that her haircut might just be the hottest choice this season. While sleek, straight and smooth have been all the rage, messy and layered are all set for a comeback.
What's even better is the fact that a layered short haircut like Maisie's can be much lower in maintenance than most. A few spritzes of texturizing spray on damp hair and curling tongs can lend locks texture and volume. Plus, humidity won't have as bad an effect as it would have on straight hair.
Enough reason to give this hot haircut a go this season? We sure think so.
