The solution to everything is yoga for Malaika Arora and rightfully so

If there was an award for being a committed fitness fanatic, Malaika Arora's trophy cabinet would have been full by now. Amid hectic schedules and enviable vacations, workouts never take a backseat for the diva. Her Instagram stands as proof. On “Malaika's Monday motivation”, the actress became our wellness guide. How? She shared a video for individuals, unable to “shake off lower back pain”. To “feel better” the actress suggested yoga, more specifically the cat and cow pose, also known as Hatha Yoga. In a step-by-step process, she showed how to execute the asana. Malaika began by inhaling, followed by taking position by keeping her hands shoulder-width apart and knees below the hips. Next, she advised viewers to “exhale and come into cow pose”.

In a detailed explanation in the video text, Malaika recommended her Insta-fam to “Repeat the cat-cow stretch on every inhale and exhale” corresponding to the breath movement. “Continue the same motion along with the movement of the whole spine. You can do it at your own comfortable pace. After your final exhale, come back to a neutral spine,” she added. “Flowing into happiness, one pose at a time,” read her inspiring caption.

Besides alleviating back pain, the cow/cat pose also increases neck, spine, and shoulder flexibility, strengthens the spine, and releases tension in the neck and upper back. What's more, the yoga asana can also reduce stress and anxiety symptoms, relaxing your mind and inducing better sleep.

To make workouts more fun with a hint of challenge, guess what Malaika Arora did? She took out a bamboo stick to perform an unconventional yoga pose known as “danda yoga”. She pulled off several asanas with it, making us wonder how she does what she does. Malaika held the stick up in the air bending sidewards, balanced it on her waist and bent backward, and even carried out a toe crossover exercise masterfully. Danda yoga promotes correct body alignment, strengthens spinal joints and hamstrings, and helps in toning muscles.
