When the trailer for the upcoming movie Beyond The Clouds hit the internet, it promised a lot in terms of talent, good acting, and a story that seems like it will hit all the right notes. If that wasn't enough, Ishaan Khatter's passion drips gallons from whatever little we have seen.
But that is not all that the trailer teases with. There is another talented actor on the block worth reckoning with and that's Malavika Mohanan; the girl who assumably plays Ishaan's elder sister in the movie. The South Indian beauty made her cinematic debut starring in Malayalam films and as her debut in the Hindi movie industry, Beyond The Clouds seems like the right fit to kick start her career. After all, it is directed by Academy Award nominee, Majid Majidi.
But hey, acting prowess isn't the only thing the girl is making her mark felt with - she also comes with a fashion sensibility that is chic, contemporary, and classic. Anyone who has been following Malavika Mohanan on Instagram can see how her style choices are on point and add to her breath taking appeal. Malavika does it without being over-the-top - and to be honest, very few actresses have that.
Look at her rocking it in a simple white top paired with striped palaazo pants and silver hoop earrings - simple clearly works for her.
Effortless seems to be the key word for Malavika's style; she seems to nail it even when she isn't working.
In fact, I think we can wager that effortless is her fashion statement personally. Even at film promotions she seems to make a point to wear monotones and a single stand out piece.
But even if it isn't effortless that she goes for, styled and dressed, she looks gorgeous. This is the time she paired a printed skirt with a black velvet top and jhumkas. Desi chic anyone?
Jhumkas seem to be something Malavika is quite find of. At London Film Festival too she wore an Indian attire paired with jhumkas and minimal make-up.
Okay, honestly, Indian wear seems to become her - look at this picture of her in a Jade lehenga in blush pink. We are fans, alright.
But that hardly means she doesn't slay in western wear - far from it. Look at what she wore to the Elle Graduate Awards and swoon over that Nikita Mhaisalkar creation.
Summer vibes and prints? She got it under control y'all. House of Sohn has a new lover to add to it's list.
And if she wasn't already the talk of the fashion town, walking the ramp for Falguni & Shane Peacock at the Times Fashion Week sure is going to do it.
Gliding on the ramp slowly into our fashion loving hearts, this one.
