Ahead of its release, Greta Gerwig's directorial Barbie has already managed to keep fans on the edge of their seats. That reached its peak at the world premiere of the film. All eyes were on Margot Robbie at the event in Los Angeles. The star wore a black strapless Schiaparelli gown with a tulle hemline at its mid-length. It was paired with black gloves, slingback heels and a choker necklace. Styled by Andrew Makamal, Robbie's look was a recreation of the 'Solo In The Spotlight' doll from 1960, which was stylishly duplicated right down to the red lip. Barbie will hit the theatres on July 21. The film, apart from Margot Robbie, also features Ryan Gosling and Kingsley Ben-Adir as Ken as well as multiple other celebrities playing versions of the dolls.

Margot's promotional rounds for the Barbie movie have been nothing short of phenomenal. Most of her ensembles have paid homage to the famous doll, with recreations of Barbie's looks through the years. Here, her zany printed dress with pink heels tipped its hat off to the 'Totally Hair' doll from 1992.
Then there was the event where she channelled the 'Day To Night' Barbie from 1985. Robbie's look started with a retro-themed pink and white skirt suit with pointed pumps and a hat. It ended with a pink sequin bustier and tulle skirt, perfectly in theme with the doll's look from the era.
In 1992, 'Earring Magic' Barbie was released, which featured the doll wearing a hot pink mini dress, a voluminous blonde ponytail and a silver pair of star-motif earrings with a matching belt. Margot recreated it stunningly, with the star-themed accessories lending a thoughtful touch.
1964's 'Sparkling Pink' doll was clad in a pink skirt suit with a hat and heels to match. Margot brought it to life so magically, she practically looked like she stepped straight out of a toy store.
She also slipped into a custom polka dot dress for one of the events in Los Angeles. Coming from the shelves of Valentino, it featured a criss-cross bodice forming a halter neckline. The daring bustier was attached to the mini skirt hem. The Hollywood star created a contrasting effect when she paired her look with a yellow mini sling bag to recreate the look worn by the 'Pink And Fabulous' Barbie from 2015.

Previously, Margot was seen in Bottega Veneta's bubblegum pink co-ord set. The outfit featured a sleeveless crop top with a plunging sweetheart neckline, supported by its straps. It was paired with a pleated mini skirt and Manolo Blahnik Jada matching mules with heels. She sealed her look with a matching mini Cabat bag from the same Italian fashion house.
The actress was also seen in a skirt set from the shelves of Prada for movie promotions. The dress included a sleeveless crop top with a wrap-around mini skirt. The plunging neckline of the crop top was supported by its straps. The dress did a great job in highlighting her midriff region. The ensemble was accentuated through an overall checkered print. She styled her look with mule heels. A few rings and subtle earrings made a case of minimal accessories.
Just like any true pop culture phenomenon, the Barbiecore trend has made its way into the fashion streets. Courtesy of Margot Robbie's sartorial picks, the trend appears to be far from ending.
