The theme for this year's Met Gala was 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination'. If you had let your imagination go wild even yesterday, you could have pictured how wild this one was going to get. Religion. Fashion. Christianity. All coming together on one red carpet. It was going to be fun indeed and guess what? Fun. It. Was. Okay, we aren't mocking (relax, Anna Wintour!); some of the gowns and dresses that were seen were absolutely breathtaking. Exhibit A: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in this gold Ralph Lauren gown. Exhibit B? Blake Lively in her Versace gown that took 600-hours to come to life. And then there was Gigi Hadid, also in Versace. And no, nothing 'fishy' here, but stained glass window-esque. How creative is that?

Oh, and the hostess aka the Pope for the occasion. Rihanna, like a boss.

The thing is, it is not even about designer gowns and atelier creations - we see that more and enough. The primary motive of Met Gala is to collaborate art and fashion, costumes and themes spanning all eras and times. It is about art that is adorns the body. So it becomes not just to put your most fashionable foot forward but it should also be tuned into the theme. Not many can pull that of course. Clearly. For a gala that promises to showcase some radical designs to the world, sometimes the line between radical and what-in-the-name-of-God blurs. And so, here we are presenting some of the worst dressed from the red carpet of Met Gala 2018.

Yo, Sarah Jessica Parker! There is OTT and then there is that headgear, more Russian tsarina than anything remotely episcopal. While the Dolce & Gabbana gown would have been wonderful as a standalone piece, we really think you should have left the church on your head at home.

Selena Gomez? You okay, bro? You could have at least, at least made a wee bit of effort you know?

Solange Knowles, please return that outfit to the unsuspecting sea creature you took it from?

Amanda Seyfried, Prada did you bad.

Lana Del Rey, too extreme don't you think? If Cher were to find religion, this is what we think she would look like - in everyday life, knowing Cher.

Jennifer Connelly, that dress is way too half and half.

Sometimes we do wonder whether art is only too subjective and aesthetics are not universal after all. But hey, what looks good, looks good; what doesn't, doesn't.

Oh well. Here's to another year of wait for the next ones.
