The White House hosted a State dinner in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's US visit and some of the world's most influential people were in attendance. Among the many who graced the event was billionaire Mukesh Ambani along with his wife, philanthropist Nita Ambani. In any of the unique and gorgeous sarees that she wears, Nita Ambani highlights the charm of Indian textiles. For this event, she wore an ethereal ivory and gold Benarasi silk saree which was the result of a lot of labour of love made over a period of one month. It was produced at the Reliance Foundation's Swadesh exhibit which showcases India's vast and meticulous craftsmanship of textiles. The Indian touch goes further with a fragrant gajra in full bloom, adorning her sleek bun.
A silk saree paired with a string of pearls is a match made in heaven. Perhaps that's where Nita Ambani came from when she paired not one, but three rows of pearls and elegant pearl and diamond stud earrings to complete her elegant ethnic look.
Not one but two ethereal sarees made their way to the White House courtesy of Nita Ambani. Reflecting her vision of promoting Indian artisans, the State lunch co-hosted by U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also found a place of pride for the Indian textile. She wore a bright pink Patola saree representing the centuries-old Indian craft. This beautiful bright weave with animal patterns and geometric perfection took 6 months of hard work to be completed to perfection.

Nita Ambani shows the world what meticulous Indian craftsmanship is all about, but the feeling of seeing a saree outside of India is truly priceless.
