Nita Ambani, philanthropist and the wife of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, is known for her impeccable taste in fashion, especially her ethnic choices. Her latest saree from her US visit was a case in point. At the State lunch co-hosted by U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the philanthropist made a striking appearance in a myriad of colours with a Patola saree. The traditional woven Gujarati saree was made from the finest silk. The pink Patola saree was a double ikat weave, which means that the pattern was woven into the fabric before it was dyed and that the patterns are symmetrical on both sides of the saree. The saree was also decorated with hand-embroidered motifs inspired by traditional rangoli patterns of geometric designs, flowers and animals on the border.
