It's only fair to give a special shout-out to the visionary behind this mammoth project, the lady of the moment Mrs Nita Ambani herself. Nita Ambani is a businesswoman and a philanthropist but in our books, she is easily a veteran fashionista. For the never-ending celebration of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre launch, the hostess with the mostest of the evening looked resplendent in gold. Well to share this golden moment on the world front, it is only fair to look the part too. To make the East meet the West, Nita Ambani was dressed in a glorious golden Valentino gown that with a little help from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla's soft gold embroidered cape deserved a moment to itself. The Ambanis love their jewels and it is clear to see that Nita Ambani is the flag bearer of this feat. Her long-layered necklaces and her unmissable diamond earrings and ring stand equally poised. With soft brown smokey eyes and a glossy peach for makeup and soft wavy hair styled in royal perfection, Nita Ambani arrives in style and never leaves our minds.
Same-same but different was the idea behind Isha and Nita Ambani's outfits of the night. In an attempt to fuse Western and Indian fashion sensibilities, the mother-daughter duo picked monochrome looks that featured a Valentino gown layered with a custom-made cape in tone-on-tone fashion from Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. While Nita Ambani went with opulent golds, Isha Ambani looked remarkable in red. If this is the future of fashion, we're glad to know that we are moving towards an incredibly stylish path.

Nobody and by that we mean that even the very graceful Nita Ambani can stay away from a saree moment for too long. To launch the spectacular evening, Nita Ambani washed our blues away in the most splendid blue Benarasi saree that looked like a piece of art in its being. Doused with gorgeous brocade threadwork and jewels from another world altogether, her makeup and floral bun supported the grandeur of the overall outfit.
Nita Ambani has her own fashion niche, which is so incredible, we're bummed that we don't get to see it as often.
