The Miss India Contest of 2000 was truly historic for India. All three winners – Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, and Dia Mirza – went on to win Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific International that year. Dia Mirza shared a throwback picture with all the ladies in row with special appearances from Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Yukta Mookhey and Diana Haydon. 25 years later, and they're all still icons in their own right.
In the throwback photograph, all the pageant queens were dressed in chic pastel-toned sarees - all draped uniquely.

Dia Mirza looked dreamy in a blush saree with a long blouse. The monochrome saree look was embellished with sequins for sparkle worthy of a beauty queen.
Aishwarya Rai's sophisticated one-shoulder white gown was as elegant as it could get, especially when paired with sheer white gloves. Diana Haydon too picked a white gown. The only difference was that she picked a halter neckline instead.
Lara Dutta said yes to a peach saree with silver sequins work. Halterneck blouses were among the popular trends of the time and here she was rocking it in monochrome too.
It was hard to look away from Priyanka Chopra brightly shining in a mint green saree with silver sequins and a tie-up blouse.
Sushmita Sen looked like a vision in powder blue. She wore a gown with thin straps and black gloves to break the monotony and steal the attention.
From 2000-2005, these beauty queens continue to be role models and icons in the world of fashion and beyond.
