Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's track Kudmayi features Alia Bhatt as the quintessential bride in a gorgeous Manish Malhotra lehenga. Besides Bhatt's ethereal look or golden ensemble, there is one more reason for which the song has been making the headlines and that is Alia's mehendi. During a recent success party for the movie, director Karan Johar said that Kudmayi was shot four days after Alia's real wedding and showcased her actual bridal mehendi.
However celebrity mehendi artist Veena Nagda, who worked on Bhatt's mehendi for the movie, “cleared out the air”. In a bid to compare the actress' reel and real henna work, Veena dropped a series of pictures of the actress. In the first two pictures, Alia is pictured in the music video. The last picture belongs to her and Ranbir Kapoor's wedding reception. In the Kudmayi video, Alia's mehndi featured a broad intricate wrist design, while no such design was seen in her own wedding reception picture. In addition, the mehendi designs on Alia's fingers were altered with a few tassels, but no such detail was seen in her wedding day mehendi.
Veena Nagda began her detailed post by saying, “We wanted to clear out the air about Alia Bhatt's mehendi in the movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. You can clearly see her wrist is empty in the last photo which is after her wedding. For the movie, we did the entire wrist design.” She added that along with the wrist design a few altercations were also done on Alia's fingers. She added, “We also made changes to the design on her fingers. Few other changes were made to the overall design.” She wrote, “Not at all taking away any credits from the previous designer. We mentioned that we applied mehendi on the set of the movie. So we request people to be mindful before they comment. Movies work in a different manner. Hope you understand that. If you need more details please feel free to message us.”

Recently it was at a press event in Mumbai, as per NDTV, that Karan Johar said, "Alia and Ranbir Kapoor got married. After four days, we shot this song. So actually Alia got married twice in a week then. One in real life, another in reel life. The mehendi, shown in the movie, was Alia's mehendi from her real shaadi. We had only darkened it. The song was shot in Jaisalmer.”
