Fashion's greatest forces have often gone the extra mile to make their designs speak volumes. It was Miuccia Prada who once stated that what you wear is how you present yourself to the world and his latest collection proves just that. For the new Spring/Summer 2024 men's collection, designers Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons presented fashion fireworks in Milan.
Showcased during the ongoing Milan Fashion Week, Prada's menswear collection focused on 'fluidity' in every way. From the lightweight, sober and yet refined garments to actual slime dropping on the runway, the designer went all out to stay close to the collection's code, 'Fluid Form'. So why have actual blobs of green slime dropped on the runway? It was a metaphorical representation of the theme. The concept of fluidity framing was expanded through the demonstration of abstract walls in the Deposito of the Fondazione Prada with dripping slime. This apparel decoded the sartorial lines and proposed absolute freedom of the body, expressed through silhouettes.
The show presented some of the most refined key pieces of the male wardrobe, a white shirt that is not just a silhouette but has the capability to transform a look. With calming hues and spring-worthy elements, Prada's menswear collection was a fashion treat. The shirts showcased at the show came with sleek detailing and a flattering tailored fit.
From basics like shirts to extravagant reporter jackets, the range consisted of all. Long raincoats were another highlight from the runway, with some standout bright, popping hues.
The shirts with motifs added a very Spring-worthy vibe as they contrasted well with soothing pastels, a notable feature of the collection.
The designers revisited the classics in a new way bringing back classic shirts in a refreshing yet comforting avatar with nonchalant prints.
