There's nothing better to drive away monotony quite like a mid-week party and Bollywood couldn't agree with us more. While we're used to starry weekend parties, this Wednesday night studio launch came as a pleasant surprise. At a swish Mumbai five-star, renowned school Make-Up Designory announced their launch in the city. While small scale makeup academies have cropped up by a dime a dozen in recent times, it's a turning point when an internationally accredited name like MUD India opens their doors in the city. Often dubbed the 'Harvard of make-up schools', Make-Up Designory is present across the world in the United States, Canada, Ghana and Belgium. The school will also share space with LEAP India and Rohan Shrestha's School of Photography in Bandra. Besides its large-scale makeup school whose alumni go on to work in films and on celebrities, Make-Up Designory also has their own range of professional cosmetics.
Of course, an event as glittering as this wouldn't be complete without it's fair share of Bollywood celebrities.
Ranveer Singh was the celebrity highlight of the event and unsurprisingly, came in a bold look that no one except him could pull off. Over white separates from Saint Laurent, Ranveer wore a sequined chevron printed Manish Arora bomber jacket with Dolce & Gabbana silver high tops. You can trust this guy to always make a statement.
Kriti Sanon chose yellow yet again as she wore a mustard toned set of wide legged trousers, a top and a printed jacket, all from Mahima Mahajan. Got to love how this lady nails the easy breezy look.
Kalki Koechlin chose a muted look courtesy Amoh by Jade - grey dhoti pants, an embellished blouse with strappy stilettos and a clutch. Her outfit, however, gets a 'just-about-passable' from us.
Dia Mirza showed up in her typical feminine vibe with an embroidered blush pink dress by Geisha Designs with matching pumps.
Designer Nachiket Barve showed up in grey toned layers with a camo printed vest to top it off.
It was a rare sighting of Anushka Manchanda as she sported a grungy look with a white crop top, pleather leggings, boots and...a jacket and tinted sunglasses at night? We're not quite sure where she was taking this look with its ample mix of elements.
Don't you just love it when a mid-week night gets as starry as this one? We certainly do.
