Renowned fashion Satya Paul has died at age 78 in Coimbatore and left an irreplaceable void with his passing. He founded his eponymous Indian label in the 80s and proved to be a firebrand at a time when premium homegrown brands weren't the norm. Even in the current modern era, when an influx of global luxury names and foreign designers were present and accessible, Satya Paul stood out firmly, while enjoying popularity of fashionistas. A brand that embraced its heritage and culture, it came to be known for its vivid scarves, striking sarees and suave men's accessories. The Indian designer label was also a celebrity favourite that was favoured by the stars of Bollywood. In memory of Satya Paul and his incredible body of work, we're looking back at his signature saree styles on stars like Malaika Arora, Gauri Khan, Mandira Bedi and more.
