If it was only Sabrina Carpenter's boppy hits that have grabbed your attention, then please, please, please direct it to her style as well. The pop phenomenon, who rose to fame in 2024, is ensuring that her fashion choices take centre stage; even when she is off of it. Sabrina was recently snapped on the streets of New York, looking snuggly and stylish for the chilly winter night. Her outfit borrowed from the year's mob wife aesthetic as it featured a mini skirt suit with accents of animal print and fur. Miss Carpenter wore a black long sleeve blouse with a leopard printed fur-trimmed collar and cuffs with broad gold buttons down the front. It was paired with a micro mini black skirt, sheer stockings, black platform pumps and a tiny briefcase-style purse in her hand. Completing the look were her blonde locks worn in voluminous curls, heavy contouring on her cheeks and a soft smokey eye. While it made for a fabulous look for a night out, there was more to it.

It seems that Sabrina's aesthetic might have additionally been inspired by the 1993 American sitcom The Nanny. Sabrina borrowed from an episode in which the character wears a nearly identical black skirt suit. However in The Nanny, the stockings were a tad darker and hem of the skirt longer. Like Sabrina, she too carried a briefcase in her hand in the show.
The pivotal role was played by Fran Drescher, who acted on the show as Fran Fine, a nanny to a wealthy British widower's family. The Nanny ended in 1999 but Fran has gone on to be adored as a retro style icon for her outlandish and glitzy looks on the show.
