There's a joke going around which says January feels like it has 45 days instead of the usual 31, purely because of how monotonous each and every day feels. Resolutions are put off, work is procrastinated and the blues can feel like they are only getting bluer. It's not just you, everyone is feeling it. On her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Salma Hayek had the best advice for exactly this conundrum.

In a caption posted alongside the talk show video she shared, Salma said, "January can be a tough month, but here's a tip for when you're feeling down". In her conversation with Kelly Clarkson, Salma said, "Girls, when you are sad or you feel like you have no strength - close the door, put on some music and dance like nobody's watching. Until you get chills!" Kelly replies to this, saying, "It makes me feel so good to dance!" Salma continues, "I love movement, it gives you power."
We believe Salma wholly because it isn't just words that she's spouting on television. The Hollywood star has actually shown us how much she adores dancing, whether that involves her breaking into a dance in the middle of her dressing room or shaking it off on the shore in a bikini. As per Cult Fit, the dynamic movements of dance involve a combination of cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises. When you engage in intricate dance routines, it challenges your brain to memorize steps and coordinate movements. Besides being a cardio exercise that gets your heart pumping and blood flowing, dancing also triggers a release of endorphins in the body.
So the next time you're feeling the blues, take Salma's advice and dance it out.
