Ever since we can remember, bobby pins have always played the sidekick to a fabulous hairstyle. Bouffant? They are adding volume to the crown. Braid? They are pinning strands in place. Like loyal workers to every hairstyling kit, they work tirelessly and protect every 'do that they are part of. But hardly ever are bobby pins front and centre in the spotlight.

Sarah Paulson's latest look is aiming to change that. Sarah is most famously known for her roles in TV shows American Horror Story and Desperate Housewives as well as movies like Carol, The Post and 12 Years A Slave. 2018 is a big year for her as she has got a number of movies lined up, the most anticipated one being Ocean's 8. Sarah and rest of the leading ladies have been promoting the movie before its June release and on one such occasion, her look caught our eye.

Sarah wore a pleated grey dress with a cape and black Mary Jane shoes with an embellished buckle. While her understated, polished outfit looked good, it was her hairstyle that stole the show. With her short length often worn in a wavy bob, she has done an excellent job of giving us short hair goals numerous times.

This time went one step further. With her ashy blonde hair in a strong side parting, her hair was slicked down in place with bobby pins. But not in the way we know it. Her hairstyle Lacy Redway used a handful of black bobby pins in one select area to not just keep the hair in place but also to create a decorative pattern that overlaps each other.

How's that for the humble bobby pin stealing the show? Sarah's look is changing the way we look at bobby pins so for your next simple and swift hairstyle upgrade, this one would fit right up the alley.
