When it comes to teenage relationships, parental guidance is important. Open communication helps children to talk about their feelings. Meanwhile, parents can guide them on how to navigate romantic equations. For Scarlett Johansson, the process seems to have started early.
The actress is already giving out relationship advice to her 10-year-old daughter Rose. She appeared on the television show Today with Jenna and Friends.
Scarlett Johansson revealed that during a conversation with her 10-year-old, she learned that her daughter had stopped talking to a boy presumably ghosting him after he developed a little crush on her. Since Rose was “not feeling it,” she stopped talking with him abruptly.

“She just stopped talking to him straight up and he felt terrible. And I was telling her, I introduced the ghosting concept. It really makes the other person feel terrible about themselves. It kind of sets them on this spiral,” revealed Scarlett Johansson. The actress admitted to hating “confrontation” and ghosting people before.
Scarlett Johansson has been vocal about her parental woes. Back in 2023, the actress attended The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. At the show, she jokingly confessed that raising a toddler was similar to "being in an emotionally abusive relationship."
Elaborating on the topic, Scarlett Johansson said, “It is really tough. I remember my daughter when she was 2, I said, 'This is great. I don't know what everybody is talking about.' And then she turned 3, and it's like being in an emotionally abusive relationship.”

Scarlett Johansson added that being a part of a child's developmental period is “intense” and sometimes has “no reasoning”. "Very intense emotional swings and like, so bossy and adamant, and it is just crazy," she said.
According to Scarlett Johansson, unlike fussy toddlers, infants are “lovely”. “They are so cute. They sit there, and they love you, and then that is it. And you just get, like, love from them,' she said.
Scarlett Johansson shares daughter Rose with her ex-husband Romain Dauriac. She welcomed her son Cosmo with husband Colin Jost in 2021.
