Sonam Kapoor For Vogue As Anarkali And Frida Kahlo

Sonam Kapoor has always succeeded with her fashion experiments. Also, she loves the camera and the camera loves her back. Proof is her new Instagram posts, which are actually from a photoshoot for Vogue India. The 32-year-old actress has chosen to NOT be herself for a change and take up the persona of strong women characters we have known through the ages. The latest photoshoot captures the various moods of Sonam as Anarkali from the pages of history, iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, German spy Mata Hari and German actress Marlene Dietrich. Sonam's photographs are paired with a side of captions from each of the women of repute.

Sonam's Frida Kahlo inspired look comes with middle-parted hair - just like the Mexican painter - and a floral headgear. Styled by Ria Kamat and Elton J Fernandez, Sonam can never not do the contemporary - she picked a lehenga from Raw Mango to go with an orange jacket.

We love Sonam's pair of earrings in her Anarkali-inspired look and the soft hues of peach. The jaali dupatta is from the studios of Ritu Kumar.

The idea of Mata Hari, a Dutch exotic dancer who was convicted of being a spy, is synonymous with everything sensuous and that is exactly the vibe Sonam exudes in this photo. Sonam opted for a neutral shade saree from the shelves of Anavila Misra and draped it in style to get a mermaid-inspired look. The bejewelled choli adds oodles of panache to the look.

Sonam went a step ahead to nail the look as Marlene Dietrech, the German actress from the thirties. Thin eyebrows, dark lips and the attire of a charmer - and bingo!
