Taapsee Pannu: "Fitness Isn't Only About Looking Good, But Feeling Good Too"
Taapsee Pannu strikes a pose at recent movie promotions

It's a good time to be Taapsee Pannu. Her latest Bollywood release Saand Ki Aankh is still going strong in theatres since its Diwali release. Taapsee and Bhumi Pednekar played octogenarian sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar and won acclaim for their portrayal of characters decades older than themselves. She is best known for picking strong, bold roles that showcase her acting talent to the fullest without relying on smoke and mirrors. Off-screen, she never fails to speak her mind as proved at Goa's IFFI 2019 in which she took centre stage for the Women In Lead session a day ago. Her style is groomed and like an actress who is best known for her craft, never overshadows her performances.

Not many may know that fitness is absolutely essential for Taapsee Pannu but it comes as no surprise for someone whose career is created in front of a camera. The latest edition of the Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkaton 2019 highlighted their Go Walk category of walking shoes and created a platform for amateur and professional walkers with Taapsee, Melvin Louis, Anushka Manchanda and more in support. Swirlster spoke to Taapsee Pannu to spill the beans about her fitness game as a Bollywood actress.

Taapsee Pannu Reveals Her Fitness Mantra

For a busy Bollywood actress like herself, fitness has now become an aspect of Taapsee Pannu's job although it has always been present. "I've always been a hyperactive kid and been in sports during my childhood. I even took up dancing once I grew up. Organically, fitness has always been a part of my life. As an actress, it is a part of my work. But besides looking good, it's about feeling good too."

Taapsee goes on to add, "I know when I don't work out for a week or 10 days, I start feeling unhappy and bloated. Psychologically, exercise uplifts the mood so for that sake at least, everyone should try and pick up a sport or routine that they enjoy because that helps them become a more positive, happier person."

To her, walking is the ideal alternative to running. "Many are afraid of running because they find it stressful or believe that it will damage their knees. For them, walking is a good choice as it won't stress them psychologically but will still help them stay fit." Taapsee Pannu's personal fitness mantra lies in choosing an activity that is enjoyed, rather than one picked for the sake of it. "Rather than brainlessly going to the gym, people should pick a sport; which is something I recommend to everyone because of how a sport keeps your mind healthy along with your body."

On signing off, Taapsee leaves us with this diet tip, "Make sure your metabolism stays high by eating meals that gets digested within two hours. A sign that it is going well is when you feel hungry every couple of hours."
