1. For Normal Skin
The best oils that work for normal skin are the ones which are not too heavy. Coconut oil works miraculously for normal skin type and has various benefits with anti-ageing properties and collagen production while nourishing the skin. It increases the skin's elasticity which prolongs the aging process, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Jojoba oil and marula oil also work well for normal skin types as they are lightweight and get absorbed into the skin easily.
2. For Dry Skin
If you have dry and dull skin, extra virgin coconut oil, almond oil and apricot kernel oil will work wonders. These oils contain oleic acid which seals in the moisture into the skin and reduces the dullness, redness and dryness of the skin. Almond oil contains vitamin A which helps in reducing fine lines on the dry skin. It is effective on extreme dry skin conditions like eczema.
3. For Oily Skin
For oily skin, light-weight oils work better which are not too greasy. These lighter oils do not clog the pores and thus work better on oily skin types. Tea-tree oil, grapeseed oil and argan oil are the best for oily skin. Due to their anti-bacterial and astringent properties, these oils help to reduce acne and unclogging pores.
4. For Combination Skin
Marula, jojoba and flaxseed oils work well on combination skin types. They manage to keep the skin hydrated while preventing it from acne. All these oils get easily absorbed in the skin and also work in controlling oil production. These oils can be applied during the night time routine before applying the moisturiser.
5. For Sensitive Skin
As sensitive skin types require extra care, mild oils like aloe vera oil and moringa oil work most effectively on these skin types. They also prevent acne and reduce skin inflammations and redness. Moringa oil has antioxidant properties which removes free radicals and reduces premature aging. Aloe vera on the other hand has antibacterial properties and balances oil skin and reduces acne.
We hope our list helps you to include the right facial oils in your daily skincare regime as per your skin type. We however recommend you to talk to your dermatologist before starting any new skincare regimen. Also conduct a patch test before using any new products directly on your face.
