The First Look Of Gully Boy Is Out, But Do You Know Who It's Based On?
The movie is to release on February 14th, 2019

So the first look of the next Zoya Akhtar movie, Gully Boy is out, and boy are we excited or what?

Well for one, the movie brings together a pairing that many have long awaited with much high hopes attached: the star of the hour Ranvir Singh, and the seemingly invincible actress Alia Bhatt. If you are having a hard time imagining the spark their chemistry will bring to the screen, just check out some of the ad films they have done together.

But whatever their expression, our emotion remains unchanged and unscathed - excited AF.

But do you even know what (read who) the movie is based on?

The movie will tell the story of streets rappers from the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai. In fact, Zoya and Ranveer attended a few sessions of two street rappers, Naezy and Divine. Once underdogs, the two are now known names in the music scene, collaborating with artists such as Nucleya, doing sold-out shows in London, and charting the map of underground rap scene in India.

Now imagine Ranveer Singh rapping like this. Goose-frickin-bumps. The slums and chawls of Mumbai have been a storyteller's mood board for quite a while. And we are happy that what happens in the slums, will no longer stay in the slums.
