Mona Lisa gets a specially dedicated space at the Louvre Museum in Paris

The iconic Mona Lisa painting, which is housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris, is all set to get a dedicated room to itself which will be accessible using a separate access pass.

President of France Emmanuel Macron announced the renovation of the historic Louvre Museum. As a part of this process, the Mona Lisa painting will now get a special space for itself.

He made this announcement whilst standing in front of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece Emmanuel Macron and shared that painting's new exhibition spot will also have independent access in comparison to the rest of the museum.

The renovation process of the Louvre Museum might take years to see completion. As per the plan, a new entrance will be built for France's national art museum which will reopen around 2031, after the creation of underground rooms.

The Louvre Museum, which is commonly known as the Louvre, is one of the most famous museums of art in the world and was founded in the year 1793. As of the year 2024, it attracted 8.7 million visitors in the entire annual year. Apart from Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa painting, the Louvre is also home to the Coronation of Napoleon by Jacques-Louis David, Venus de Milo by Alexandros of Antioch and many more timeless pieces of art.
