The Jacquemus SS 2024 Show With A Versailles Lakeside Runway Paid Homage To Princess Diana, With These Celebs Were In Attendance

Including a historical aesthetic combined with an eternal vision of spectacular fashion, Simon Porte Jacquemus staged his latest spring/summer 2024 show, 'Le Chouchou,' at Versailles. The French summer vibe was put on display as Simon turned the famous French locale into a cobbled runway. Simon loves dramatic fashion moments and so, he created an epic one with a long train which had models walking all the way.

Known as one of France's most famous sites, he turned the Versailles Lake into the front row of the show as A-listers like Victoria Beckham, David Beckham and more were ferried in small ivory-coloured rowboats on the Grand Canal to witness the show.

The allure of Paris was maximised as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid showed up on the runway. Kendall made her way to the majestic grounds of Versailles in a dramatic cloud-like bodysuit that featured off-shoulder detailing. Her triple-layered choker was an ode to Princess Diana. The necklace was notably donned by Princess Di when she wore her iconic little black revenge dress. It was a triple-strand pearl and sapphire necklace. Gigi Hadid walked the runway in all her gorgeous glory wearing a sheer white mini-dress with lingerie underneath as she put on a dreamy display of style.

The show was truly a spectacular one with a French twist to it as the collection resonated with a cottage-core Gen Z vibe, an ode to Marie Antoinette and Princess Diana. The mood board for the collection was all about body-baring, lingerie-like slip dresses, bulbous puffs finished with delicate tailoring and 80s-inspired silhouettes, many of which reminded us of the former Princess of Wales.

Princess Diana's fashion has always captivated the audience and the Jacquemus show was proof that she still continues to do so. From square-toe mules to the puffiness of the silhouettes, everything was all things posh. Another model wore a Princess Di-inspired look with a puffed micro bottom paired with a structured jacket that cinched her waist, giving us a dose of contemporary fashion at its best.

Simon loves an iconic runway and this is not the first time he had the most viral moments from the show. Jacquemus is known to be particularly whimsy when it comes to runways and locations. It was in 2020 that he created another viral catwalk moment with a 600 metre-long, snaking wooden runway in a wheat field and of course, we couldn't expect anything less this time as well.

The Jacquemus show truly was an iconic one with A-listed guests and a unique theme.
