American singer Halle Bailey recently opened up about her “postpartum journey” following the birth of her first child, Halo, in January 2023. As per a report published by Entertainment Tonight, a fan page shared a video on Snapchat in which Halle can be seen talking about the challenges she faced after giving birth to her son. The singer said, "I just wanted to speak a little bit about my postpartum journey as a new mom. I have severe, severe postpartum [depression], and I don't know if any new moms can relate, but it's to the point where it's really bad, and it's hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out." Postpartum depression is a common health condition that many new moms face after the birth of their child.
"Before I had a child and I would hear people talk about postpartum, it would kind of just go in one ear and out the other," Bailey explained. "I didn't realize how serious of a thing it actually was." She further detailed her experience living through the illness, "I feel like a completely different person. When I look in the mirror, I just feel like I'm in a whole new body. Like, I don't know who I am."

As per the report, the star also talked about how her boyfriend rapper DDG had been an amazing father. She shared, "You all know that Halo has the most amazing daddy in the world. Moo Moo is just the perfect dad to him. He loves him so much; he's so present. And I couldn't have asked for a better person to have a baby with because of how present he is and how much he wants to be in his life, and how supportive he is of me and my ventures."
Halle Bailey celebrated her 24th birthday recently, and to mark the occasion, the family of three travelled to Saint Lucia. Quality time was spent by the family as a break from their normal routine. They chased sunsets, enjoyed mudbaths and gorged on local food to be one as a family. One of the many ways to deal with postpartum depression other than seeking professional help is to spend time with loved ones. Finding love and warmth can heal parts of you that you didn't even think needed healing.
