Even on days of the festivities when you find yourself tied up at the office, there is a way for you to head straight to a Diwali celebration and still look party-ready and not like you've come from a 10-hour shift.
1. The quick smokey
With the amount of products it requires, doing a smokey eye isn't ideal in the office washroom. Instead, take a quick route with matte brown liner and a smudge brush. Apply it in thick strokes over your lash lines and lower waterlines, then smudge it with the brush. You'll have a smolder to die for with barely any effort.
2. Cover up
Of course you're exhausted post work - it'll be visible on your face too. Fix that by applying concealer that's 2 shades lighter than your skin tone in the shape of an inverted triangle under your eyes and blending it with a sponge. For any marks, dot a bit of concealer (in your shade) and blend. Then dust pressed powder over it to finish off. This will lift your face up instantly, even if you are running on fumes.
3. It's tint time
A simple trick to stun at your Diwali bash is a touch of colour. Use a coloured stain in a cherry tone and dab it over your lips with your finger. Then dot it directly over the apples of your cheeks and use your fingers to blend it into the skin. The flush of colour will add life to your look in a jiffy!
4. Shimmer up
It isn't a party without a bit of sparkle, am I right? Use highlighter in double measure when heading to a Diwali party. Dust it over your cheekbones with a fan brush as you usually would for those on-fleek cheeks. Then use your fingertip to apply highlighter directly on the centre of your lid. You'll be shimmer ready in seconds.
5. Give your lashes some love
If you're ready to go big with your eye makeup this Diwali, then choose a coloured mascara. Just a few swipes of a burgundy or electric blue one will give your eyes a little more glam.
