That being said, we're still fairly obsessed with a good highlighting product and we are loving how this beauty trend is getting a full resurgence. The colours are now a bit more sophisticated, have incredible staying power and looks chic used as an accent.

2. Thick Lip Liner

Thick, standout lip liner was one of the key beauty looks of the '90s. Well, thanks to the Kardashians, now it's all about 'overlining', to create the illusion of fuller lips. However, the contrast of the liners now has eased and appears blended with our lip colour, lip liners are back and better than before!

3. Flavoured Lip Balms

Flavoured lip balms were anyone's favourite. If the beloved lip balm could be found in every one of your purses, pockets, drawers etc. then you are not alone. Now, lip balms are again a staple. However, available in more than delicious varieties that fit anywhere and have a few to suit more grown-up tastes (like bubble gum, green tea and coffee bean.)

Scrunchies were almost the perfect hair accessory -- they kept our hair out of our faces and because of the soft, fabric cover, prevented breakage. However, scrunchies lost their charm midway. Lately, we've been seeing them on runways and the red carpet, and we couldn't be happier.

Keeping with the shimmery eye, skin and nail trends, it was only natural for the shimmer to be found on the lips. '90s lipsticks were oh-so-frosty and fabulous. Lipsticks today are seeing a glimmer revival that is over-the-top and fun.
