Home delivery has never been as exciting as it is currently, thanks to interesting and varied options available in recent years. Adding to the appetite of food lovers in Delhi-NCR region is a yet another new offering - Boraan Thai, a delivery-based kitchen that takes pride in wooing customers with sumptuous Thai meals bursting with nostalgic flavours. When it comes to Thai food, it's the robust spices and their aroma that allure us all to the cuisine, making it a hot favourite. And that's what founders Scotchie Kandhari and Prakairat Ahuja attempt to offer through their menu - a selection of traditional delicacies with a few modern tweaks, using ambrosial spices and homemade ingredients.

A look at the menu and you can instantly spot the classics such as Tom Yum, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai, Krapow, Panang Curry and the like. There's a good mix of grills, stir-fries, soups, salads, curries, noodles and rice. We decided to pick from all-time favourites as well as a few interesting dishes from their New Arrivals section.

For Appetisers

For a chilly afternoon, the Tom Yum proved to be the perfect start to the meal. The bowl of spicy soup had an unmissable lemongrass note that we loved. However, we would have preferred a strained soup without any remains of the ingredients for a hassle free experience, especially for a mid-work treat. Next followed Chicken Satay, which was delightfully tender and laden with a spice mix that got a further boost with the cucumber chilli relish and homemade peanut sauce as accompaniments.

Mushroom Sala Bao

Soft and fluffy baos always make for a devouring treat. The Mushroom Sala Bao didn't disappoint either as they were nice and plump, and stuffed with fiery minced mushrooms. Definitely a must-try for those with high spice tolerance. Another appetiser that we ordered was a twist to massaman curry and that was Siam Massaman Lamb Chops. The use of fresh homemade spice paste was evident as the flavours were distinctive and it had seeped so well into the meat that it was finger-licking good.

The Main Course

Another dish that caught our attention from the New Arrivals section was Banana Wrapped Sea Bass and we were glad to have ordered it. Marinated with Thai red curry paste and steamed just right, the fish scored high on flavour and also for the fact that it made for a meal in itself along with the side of aromatic jasmine rice.

No Thai meal is complete without a traditional curry and we opted for the Prawn Panang Curry that came with large-sized prawns in a spicy-nutty base that was made creamier with coconut milk.

Saving the classics for the last, we finished our meal with Pad Thai and Chicken Krapow. The traditional noodle dish had all the elements - sweet, salty, tangy, spicy and crunchy with sprouts, veggies and peanuts. The Krapow, which is minced chicken tossed in soy sauce, fish sauce, Thai basil and chillies to name a few ingredients, teamed perfectly with the noodles and ended our lunch on a scrumptious note.
