Top 5 Celebrity-Approved Saree Trends Of 2021 That Notched Up Ethnic Dressing
Some amazing saree trends for the year 2021

While our Bollywood celebrities have always tried to sport different fashion trends, experimenting with the traditional wear saree was one which got a lot of attention. They styled their sarees ranging from the '50s glam look to the modern bold metallic ones. Considering the wide range of promotions and premieres of Bollywood movies in the year 2021, our celebs went full dressing mode after being on rest in 2020 due to the pandemic. And now, with 2021 coming to an end, we have some of the best saree trends that created a buzz. It would be wise to take notes before stepping foot into the New Year.

1. The Long Veil

Remember when our Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra wore a 75-feet long veil for her Christian wedding with Nick Jonas? Looks like sarees are not that far. Most of the sarees which our celebrities wore in 2021, included having long trails.

The newly wed Katrina Kaif wore a Sabyasachi saree with a long veil, paying tribute to her mother's British heritage during pre-wedding festivities. The pastel tulle couture saree was designed in a vintage form with a trailing veil. It was paired with a statement uncut diamond choker detailed with opals and pale Russian emeralds.

Another celebrity who made a statement in Manish Malhotra's statement saree with a trivializing veil is Kriti Sanon. The masterpiece was embellished with sequins throughout and a red coloured strap blouse. She paired it with a hair bun and headband, a choker, and glass bangles with flower gajra wrapped around her hand.

2. Going Metallic

Metallic sarees have suddenly gained attention of many of our celebrities. One of them being actress Kiara Advani. She looked extremely radiant in a Manish Malhotra metallic saree in sea green shade. The actress paired it with a tube style blouse and loose hair. Minimal jewellery in her ears and hand, gave the look an apt appearance.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra is not behind in going for this bold saree choice either. She styled a Tarun Tahiliani metallic foil saree with utmost grace. Her look was accompanied with a draped blouse, embellished with pearl and stone embroidery on the neck and bajubandh. And just when it seemed enough, the modern day looking body hugging saree also incorporated a dori belt, giving it the perfect finish.

3. Jacket To The Rescue

Who thought a saree could be dressed with a blouse and jacket both? Our Bollywood celebrity Nora Fatehi has something to say. The dancer styled an innovatively designed Hoor Ajrak saree along with a jacket, by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. This is for sure an amazing way to say business and wedding isn't it?

Dhak-Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit Nene also wore a Tarun Tahiliani black silk georgette saree and a velvet blouse. The gilet with fine zardori work made the saree look party-worthy.

4. Shimmy Shimmy Sequin

Sequin appears to be the go to style for all of our Bollywood celebs. Manish Malhotra's statement sequin sarees are theirs as well as our favourite. Tamannah Bhatia and Parineeti Chopra aced the ombre signature sequin saree, looking alarmingly gorgeous.

Mouni Roy looked equally elegant in gray coloured sequin saree and double strap blouse, paired with light hair curls and a bold and contoured makeup look.

5. Bandhani Prints

The ethnic Bandhani print from Gujarat and Rajasthan is one which makes a bollywood entry every year and we can't disagree with them for loving them. Alia Bhatt in Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla bandhani printed saree grabbed everyones' attention with the fiercy look. The saree was elegantly designed in red, yellow and orange shades, teamed with a sleeveless red blouse and of-course, a white gajra was enough to do it.

With so many inspirations and ideas, one is bound to get confused which one to go for and which one to ditch.
