The concept of agrotourism is currently spreading like wildfire among globetrotters. Youngsters are ditching luxurious hotels and plush resorts to experience farm life and enjoy a relaxing time in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can now add yet another location to your long list of agritourism destinations. We are talking about Golden Dog Farm, located in Vermont, USA. As per a report by People, a Vermont-based couple, Douglas Worple and Becca, have created a Golden Retriever farm, wherein people come to canoodle with their happy gang of dogs. This farm is a one-of-a-kind experience, which Doug started last year in September. Apart from canoodling with dogs, you can buy their homemade maple syrup, graphic T-shirts, caps, cuff beanies and sweatshirts.

The report revealed that after selling their home in Cincinnati, Douglas Worple and Becca decided to rent an RV and spend six months on the road exploring. At the end of that six months, the couple found the 270-acre Vermont property that is now the Golden Dog Farm and settled there. The report quoted Doug as saying, “One of the reasons we moved to a place like this was so that we can build our own happy of goldens, but we realized how much work [that was going to be]. Especially with adult dogs, they have a pack mentality.”
He added, “We had three dogs, [and brought in a fourth] and it took a while to integrate him into the household. So we realized it was going to take us forever to get to a number of dogs where we can do the experience.” This is when the couple decided to seek help from their neighbour, who was a hobby breeder. After they opened the farm, and the experience went viral on social media, tickets sold out quickly. It must be noted the Golden Retriever experience goes for $75 per person. The couple allow 28 people in each group who get to play ball, pet and hang out with the retrievers "until they get tuckered out."
After their playtime, the couple then leads the group and the dogs into one of the barns on the farm, wherein guests can relish some hot chocolate if it's cold out, and they can have lunch and try other treats from the farm.
That certainly sounds like the most magical holiday for dog lovers.
