After dating for several years, superstar Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan finally got married in a dreamy ceremony at Mahabalipuram today. The duo embarked on a new journey of togetherness in the presence of their family and close friends. As expected, the couple looked their absolute best on the occasion. The bride and groom opted for custom-made wedding ensembles from the label Jade by Monica and Karishma. The beautiful bride Nayanthara dazzled her way to the mandap in a handcrafted red saree with intricate embroidery. The work is inspired by the carvings of the temples of Hoysala, as per the designers.

Nayanthara's saree, which featured scalloped borders, was paired with a matching full-sleeve red blouse. The designers Monica and Karishma reimagined Goddess Lakshmi motifs as bajubandh on the sleeves of the blouse, they said in a post. She also wore a matching red floor-sweeping veil along with the saree. In addition to this, the ensemble has also been personalised with the couple's names, "symbolizing togetherness, commitment and mutual respect."
Nayanthara accentuated her look with heavy traditional emerald and diamond jewellery. She wore chokers, long necklaces, earrings, bangles, rings and a maang tikka. For makeup, she opted for contoured cheeks, defined brows and a muted brown shade on her lips. She pulled her hair back in a bun decorated with a gajra.
The groom Vignesh wore a veshti, kurta and shawl.
It was also designed by JADE in shades of beige and gold.
Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara are usually known for their laidback and casual style. Sometimes, they even appear in colour coordinated ensembles. Ahead of their wedding, Vignesh had shared pictures with the love of his life. In the images, he is seen in a blue t-shirt with ripped jeans. He completed the look with black sneakers. Nayanthara opted for an all-denim look in a shirt and jeans. She completed the look with a pair of golden heels. She went for an understated makeup look and tied her hair in a ponytail.

To visit the shrine, Vignesh opted for a cream-hued shirt with matching pants while Nayanthara looked graceful in a green salwar kurti set. She opted for a dupatta in a muted shade of brown. She enhanced her look with traditional dangler earrings and secured her hair in a braid.
