Here's Why This Texas Family Wore Bridal Gowns To A Dinner

Rewearing your wedding dress to dinner might sound bizarre but this Texas mom and her daughters made it look fun. This post of her along with her four daughters and two daughters-in-law went viral last month after they went out to dinner in their all-white wedding gowns and all we can say is here comes the brides! One of seven, Alexis Houston, posted a video on social media and captioned it," We decided that the most expensive dresses we owned deserved to be worn & enjoyed for more than just one day in our lives. We've decided to make this a yearly tradition."

While most brides tuck away their treasured trousseaus in a corner of their wardrobe never to be worn again, this family has found a smart, sustainable and statement-making way to use their most expensive fashion investments.

The video featured all seven trousseau-wearing women having a gala time. The caption read, "We met together before the dinner to tape each other into our dresses. 100/100 recommend doing this! Absolutely SO fun!!"

As expected, heading out in wedding dresses turned more than a few heads and the caption confirms just that. "I've been asked what the response was from the people around us. Well, we were recorded on phones, complimented, asked what the occasion was & asked to be taken photos with. can't say we didn't enjoy the attention," the caption of the video read.

In an interview with international publication People, Terri Bonin, who is a mom to 11 children said, "We get out together without husbands or toddlers and eat and talk late into the night". She considered this a monthly tradition to get out with her girls. Bonin also said, "We unknowingly picked the busiest night to go to Market Street. A local High School was celebrating graduation on the grounds. We felt a little bad about stealing the show, but we really didn't know there would be a graduation there. The valet guys parked us for free." The article by People also mentioned that one of them named Kate, 18, is not married, but got a dress for the occasion in order to join the rest.

In the same interview, Terri also revealed that this idea was conceived when one of her daughters came across a funny video about a woman giving tips about all the things one can do in a wedding dress and that's how they decided to get rolling on the streets in their gowns.
