When it comes to picking the time of the year to marry, 28% found the winter season ideal while exactly the same percentage liked the summer season equally. Unsurprisingly, the monsoon was the least popular season for an Indian wedding because no one wants a sudden downpour raining on their big day. November and February are the most preferred months to hold a wedding while January was the least preferred month, possibly owing to the New Year's festivities. The digital era is definitely here because 57% of couples shared their engagement news through Whatsapp.

The budget is the most important part of the planning process while personalizing their wedding to their preferences was the least important part. When it comes to the cost of Indian weddings, 64% of the expenses were handled by the parents of the couple. So naturally, 33% consider their loved one's approval for decisions an important part of the process. The average cost of a wedding came in at a whopping Rs 20,00,000, which has drastically increased from the past years. The economy affected the budget of 56% of the couples surveyed and to manage it, 47% of those who saw an impact, had to cut down their guest list. As far as wedding attendees go, the average size of the guest list was 285 guests.

The wedding venue is of prime importance with 57% believing banquet halls to be the most popular type of venue. For a decision as important as this one, the cost of the venue, how many people it can accommodate and the travel time needed to arrive at the venue are its main factors. Amongst the wedding trends that currently exist, going on a honeymoon or 'mini-moon' was the most popular one. Including eco-friendly wedding decor and performing a choreographed dance were the second and third most popular wedding trends that have been found.
