To remove makeup or refresh your skin, micellar water is your quickest bet

What Is Micellar Water And Does Your Skin Need It?
Should you include micellar water in your beauty routine?

If you consider yourself a beauty enthusiast, you've heard of the term micellar water. If you're more experimental, you've probably done your due diligence and checked it out at your beauty store. But if you're a total novice when it comes to skincare products, micellar water may seem like a fancy product. This is for you!

So what exactly is micellar water and does your skin really need it?

It looks just like water but doesn't feel or foam up quite like it. To simplify, micellar water is made of micelles, which are minuscule oil molecules in soft water. When micellar water is applied to the skin, these micelles attract oil and dirt in the skin and pull them out gently.

In recent months, numerous brands like Maybelline and L'Oreal have launched their own versions joining the micellar water trend. But, micellar water is far from new. In fact, it finds its origins in Parisian pharmacies where it was sold as an alternative to washing your face with Paris' hard water.

Since then, micellar water has certainly come a long way. Today, it is being used as a rinse-less face cleanser, skin refresher and makeup remover that doesn't need a final wash. The oil molecules combined with soft water also hydrate the face while removing impurities, making it the best bet for dry and sensitive skin types. That's what makes micellar water ideal for travel and quick skin clean-ups, even when you're on the go. However, isn't very effective on waterproof, long lasting makeup and needs an additional cleanser.

How to use it?
Simply soak a clean cotton pad and wipe your skin with it using downward strokes. Whether you are using it to remove makeup or freshen your skin at midday, you'll certainly notice your skin fresher and cleaner.
