Every time Anne Hathaway steps on the red carpet, we get to see a perfect fashion moment fused with chic and glamour. Her appearance at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards was no different to this. The actress is a Versace ambassador, so it didn't come as a surprise when she rested her faith in the Italian luxury fashion house. But Anne Hathaway made us walk down memory lane of the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party when she picked the same Versace dress that was worn by Freida Pinto earlier. Of course, there was a huge difference in how the two actresses styled it.
The off-shoulder gown is from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection. With a plunging neckline, the outfit featured a keyhole detailing on the midriff region. The body-fitted bustier flew down to a broad belt with a silver buckle. The flowy hem highlighted an elegant trail. Anne styled her look with the Bulgari High Jewellery Serpenti necklace, which helped her add the much-needed gleam to it all. While that diamond necklace helped her sparkle, the off-white clutch with silver handle turned out to be the perfect contrast to her look. She looked gorgeous in her minimal glam that included coral lips and neutral eyes. Anne left her middle parted hair open and styled it in bouncy curls. A pair of silver heels sealed her look completely.
Back in 2016, Freida Pinto wore a similar dress, but she definitely had a purely different take on her look. The actress styled her dress with a wet hair look. She left those middle-parted tresses loosened. While Anne Hathaway ditched earrings and simply went with a diamond necklace, Freida did the complete opposite. Giving it a minimal touch, Freida picked a pair of silver star studs from the accessory aisle and teamed it with her metal watch. The belt buckle matched her box clutch. To complete her look Freida went with a nude dewy look. Those subtle smokey eyes looked gorgeous on her when paired with her perfectly arched brows. Freida's well-contoured face got a flush of colour with the generous stroke of blush. Her final touch was a pair of matching blue strappy heels.
This is not the first time that Versace dresses were repeated by big names. At the premiere of her husband-director Matthew Vaughn's movie Argylle in London, the German supermodel Claudia Schiffer picked a neon yellow dress that Anne Hathaway wore at George and Amal Clooney's second annual The Albies only in a different colour (that by the way, has been Claudia's pick in the past too.)
Anne Hathaway or Freida Pinto, who do you think styled the Versace gown better?
