Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh: A 55-year-old man has died in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district allegedly after he was beaten up by three policemen. The man was reportedly being interrogated about the residence of an alleged criminal in his village.
According to reports, when a team of one sub inspector, one constable and a home guard reached Neemgaon village in Lakhimpur Kheri, they asked the victim, identified only as Sabir, to lead them to the criminal's house. But when Sabir refused to accompany the cops, they allegedly thrashed him. He later succumbed to his injuries.
A case of murder has been registered against the policemen. No arrests have however been made so far.
