Lucknow:
A Delhi-based businessman, who came to Lucknow in connection with a CBI inquiry into an encounter case in Ghaziabad, committed suicide in a hotel in Nakka area, police said.
The body of 45-year-old Ranjit Singh, a resident of Rajouri Garden, was recovered from the hotel in Pandriba locality on Thursday night, they said.
Sources said the suicide note recovered from him showed he was under mental stress. In the note he requested that his wife and children should not be harassed. Ranjit had checked in the hotel on Thursday morning and had apparently consumed some pills, they said.
The sources said the encounter case was being probed by the CBI on court orders.
