Digvijaya attacks Mayawati government
Etah: Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh has attacked the Mayawati government for "failure" to control law and order, and corruption in the state.

"There is 'goonda raj' in UP and brokers are making a lot of money while even the officials have to pay monthly sums," he said addressing a rally here yesterday.

"This is clear from the fact that a BSP MLA is involved in raping a minor girl", he said.

Speaking at the rally, UP Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi alleged, "There is no law and order in the state. The government is fully aware of the ongoing corruption in the state".

The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also accused the BJP and the RSS of dividing people on religious lines.

He also demanded the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in the wake of corruption charges against him, besides that of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the backdrop of his alleged role in the Gujarat communal riots of 2002.
