Engineering student held for bomb hoax in Lucknow

Lucknow: An engineering student has been arrested by the Government Railway Police for allegedly making a hoax call that bombs had been planted at the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow.

Hemant Mishra (20), who is a B.Tech student at Vision Institute of Technology at Kanpur, was arrested by the GRP from Charbagh Railway Station, official sources said.

Police said that on last Monday a call was made on SP GRP's mobile number that bombs had been planted at the station, which later turned out to be a hoax.

Investigations revealed the involvement of Mishra and he was subsequently arrested, they said, adding that the youth used a stolen SIM card to make the call.

Police alleged that Mishra has also been involved in mobile theft cases.
